How to detect hidden Camera in an Hotel room

This days number of people lodge in hotels/Inn for different reasons. It can be for business meeting, Social affairs or other essence that are not mentioned.

Many hotels this day utilises the digital Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), web camera to monitor rooms in the hotel (i.e all activities going on in the hotel room are being captured by the camera).

However, this can be privacy vulnerable to you, and you may need to confirm if there’s is one in your room, so you can be aware and limit or stay at the safer side with anything you’ll be doing in the room.

These cameras comes in different sizes, some sizes are easily to figured out when installed in a room, while some are pinhole cameras.

How do you know if there is pinhole camera in your room?

Remember when staying in a hotel, you can use this method to check your room:

  • When you have entered into your room, turn off the lights, and close the curtains.
  • Open your phone camera, do not turn the flash light on.
  • Turn around the room with your cell phone,
  • when a red dot is found, that means that a hidden web camera is installed.

If no red dots, the room is ok, camera free.
